DP WorldDP World

DP World Australia's Sydney terminal is located in Botany Bay in Sydney's south east, close to the city centre. With easy access to motorways and a direct rail link, the terminal is well located for the transport of cargo anywhere in Sydney, New South Wales or interstate.

DP World Sydney is equipped with state-of-the-art container handling equipment, computerised control systems and extensive reefer facilities. The terminal provides a full range of electronic business support to clients, including electronic customs release of cargo, electronic data interchange (EDI) reporting and web-browser-based information services.

Building world-class facilities

We've embarked on a capital investment program to ensure that our terminal facilities and equipment remain world-class. We've also invested in new and additional yard equipment to meet the demands of continuing port growth.

Pollution incident response protocols and communication

The terminal has an integrated Emergency Response Plan (ERP) to cover 14 different categories of emergency scenarios including events that have the potential to impact the environment. DP World Sydney's ERP provides direction on the implementation of controls to mitigate the environmental impact in the event of a potential pollution incident.

All emergencies that may have the potential to pollute have the following directive as part of the action plan:

“Chief Warden or delegate shall contact all stakeholders, including authorities of any affected areas or potentially affected areas by the pollution, notifying them that a pollution incident has occurred. Providing accurate details concerning the nature, amount/size, location of the material and the number of persons injured and their location on-site, and the action being taken to combat the incident and the person through all communication are to be made.”

In the event of an incident the Chief Warden shall have all port precinct operators notified and updated through the Port Botany Emergency Area Radio (PBEAR). The Incident Reporting Matrix shall be followed to ensure that all appropriate stakeholders and regulators are informed in a timely manner and appropriately updated.
