DP World Australia was proud to be announced as the winner of the Investment in People category at the Victorian Transport Association Australia Freight Industry Awards on Saturday 2 September 2017, at Melbourne’s Crown Palladium.
DPWA received the Investment in People award, sponsored by Logical Staffing Solutions, for the new training centre and simulator that was opened at the Melbourne Terminal earlier this year.
Brad Gardner, Safety and Environment Manager, Melbourne Terminal received the award on behalf of DP World Australia.
“Our employees are central to DP World Australia’s success, and the key to developing a caring, positive and vibrant culture within our business. It is an honour to be recognised industry wide for this category, Investment in People.”
VTA CEO Peter Anderson announced the winners, who were presented with their award by VTA President Cameron Dunn and the Hon Tim Pallas, Treasurer of Victoria, representing the Victorian Government.
“DP World Australia are great supporters of the VTA and the Australian transport industry and we congratulate Brad and his team on winning the Investment in People Award at this year’s AFIAs,” said Anderson.
The awards, now in their 28th year, are held annually to recognise excellence from transport operator and supplier companies across a range of categories, and to celebrate the enormous contribution the industry makes to the national economy.
